Inclusive Information:
This is a totally inclusive tour and for the ultimate experience it is recommended to book ahead to make sure the brand new fully inclusive Waka (vessel) Te Ao Marama is going out on your selected dates. If you are in a manual chair it is fully possible to stay in your own chair throughout the journey and depending on conditions experience a close encounter with this incredible marine experience. There are a few hurdles including three steps to negotiate, however the incredibly helpful team are there to assist. It is recommended you have someone assist you around the deck in certain conditions or the team will also be happy to assist. For power-chair users, there is the option of using a transfer chair and being assisted in a very comfortable seat with amazing views.
The crew will go out of their way to make your experience stress free, with a shuttle from their base to the vessel and get you aboard first. Accessible toilets on the vessel are modern and user friendly, although its recommended to use the facilities when in the marina our in easy conditions when the vessel has stopped.
Transport:
The meeting point is at the Whale Watch base, clearly signposted off Highway 1 in Kaikoura Village. Arrive and make yourself known early the crew will assist you to the Marina and on the vessel first. There is the option of driving your own vehicle to the Marina
