Makingtrax Foundation is a registered charitable trust — and it's the model that allows us to do what we do without commercial compromise. Your support funds the equipment, the experiences, and the people that make it possible.
What your support funds
Every donation goes directly into the work.
Makingtrax takes no commercial fee for its traveller advisory service. The Foundation model means donations and Koha go straight back into the mission — funding equipment, experiences, and the ongoing work of making Aotearoa the world's leading inclusive adventure destination.
Adaptive equipment
Designing, purchasing, and maintaining the specialist equipment that makes bespoke experiences possible — bikes, harnesses, buggies, ski chairs, and more.
Bespoke experiences
Coordinating experiences for travellers who need adaptive support — covering the advisory, coordination, and logistics that make each trip happen safely.
Research and development
Supporting ongoing research partnerships, equipment development, and the evidence base that underpins everything Makingtrax does.
Growing the movement
Expanding the reach of inclusive tourism across Aotearoa and internationally — through education, advocacy, and the platforms that make the work visible.
Our giving model
Koha
A gift. A contribution. A relationship.
Give what feels right.
Makingtrax operates on a Koha model — a traditional Māori concept of gifting and reciprocity. We take no payment for our traveller advisory service. You pay and participate directly with the operator. At the end of your experience, if our service has added value, a Koha is welcome.
It's not a transaction. It's a relationship — and it's the foundation of how Makingtrax has always operated. Every Koha received helps us continue doing what we do, and supports the next person who needs it.
