Glacier Travel
One of the Most Unreal Accessible Adventures on the Planet
Get ready for an experience like no other — a fully accessible glacier adventure that combines two breathtaking helicopter flights with the chance to explore a remote and untouched part of the glacier, all with your own personal guides.
Strapped into the Makingtrax specialist glacial buggy and assisted throughout, you’ll journey deep into a frozen wonderland of vivid blue ice caves, arches, and tunnels. This is alpine adventure at its finest — made inclusive.
All you need to bring is warm clothing, sun protection, a few snacks to keep your energy up, and a sense of adventure. We’ll provide the rest — including adaptive and technical equipment, outerwear, and expert guidance. The trip is private and designed around your needs, lasting four hours in total, with three full hours spent exploring the glacier itself. You’ll be supported by a team of highly experienced guides every step of the way, ensuring both safety and unforgettable experiences.
These trips are operated in partnership with Mount Cook Glacier Guides based at Mount Cook Airport and Fox Glacier Guiding from Fox Glacier Township on the West Coast.
This is a private experience for a minimum of two people, one person with reduced mobility. The trip is weather dependent, as additional snowfall may affect access and movement across the glacier using the buggy. All bookings and logistics are managed through Makingtrax — get in touch early to ensure your adventure is fully tailored and supported.
